Trekking

Pindari Glacier
( Kathgodam to Kathgodam 11 Days)
Season: April to September
The Pindari Glacier is situated between two prominent peaks Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot. It is also the source of the Pindar valley. It occupies a length of about 3 km and width of about 400 meters and extends from a height of 3,650 metres to 4,260 metres. It is the most easily accessible glacier in Kumaon region. Pindari's rugged beauty offers a breath taking sight especially for the trekker who has a great appreciation and fondness for nature. The trek to Pindari Glacier is an unsurpassable and exhilarating experience.

Itinerary for thePindari Glacier Trek: -

Day 01: Pickup at Kathgodam and drive toLoharkhet via Almora, Bageshwar (10-12 hrs.)
Bageshwar is situated at the confluence of rivers Saryu, Gomati and the latent Bhagirathi. Loharkhet is a small hamlet on the banks of the river Saryu. Our dinner and night stay is in tents/rest house.

Day 02: Loharkhet -Dhakuri (2680m / 8844 ft.)
Morning after breakfast we trek up to Dhakuri.  It is a fairly winding route that takes us there. Dhakuri is a beautiful place with grassy slopes and forest. Dinner and night staywill be in tents/rest house.

Day 03: Dhakuri - Khati (2210m/7293 ft.)

Khati is the largest village on this route and is on the banks of the River Pinder Ganga.The people here are extremely hospitable and legend has it that they are the descendents of the race who provided shelter to the Pandavas during their exile. Dinner and night stay will be in Tents/Village huts.

Day 04: Khati - Dwali (2575m/8498 ft.)
The trek today will take about 5-6 hrs. You will be able to hear the roar of the Pinder Ganga which is not too far off. Along the way there are many waterfalls and log bridges to be crossed. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 05: Dwali - Phurkia (3206 metres/14300 ft.)
A short trek gets us to Phurkia. The barren icy peaks seem to be our only companions for the day. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 06: Phurkia - Pindari Glacier (3900 metres/12870 ft.)
Morning, it will be an early start as it is a 7 km trek either way. Touch zero point from where the Pindari glacier can be viewed in all its magnificence. The Pinder valley is also prominent with its patches of lush greenery over the stark white landscape. We return to Phurkia. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 07: Phurkia - Dwali
It’s time to go back and the trek will take about 3 hrs. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 08: Dwali - Khati

Today's trek will take 4-5 hrs. Exploring Khati is a good idea as it has some beautiful sights to offer. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 9: Khati – Dhakuri

In the morning after breakfast we return to Dhakuri. The trek will take 3-4 hrs. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 10: Dhakuri – Loharkhet

We trek all the way to Loharkhetwhich takes about 5-6 hours.Our night stay will be at a Resthouse/hotel. The trek  comes to an end.

Day 11: Loharkhet – Song - Bageshwar – Kathgodam/Naini Tal

In the morning drive to Kathgodam/Nainital.


Sunderdhunga Glacier, Maiktoli base camp trek
( Kathgodam to Kathgodam 12 Days)
Sunderdhunga is approximately 24 Km. from the village Khati. From Khati we go to village Jatoli which is the first night halt enroute to Sunderdhunga Glacier. From Jatoli up to DhungiaDhaun it is a tough trek. Wewill spend the night in DhungiaDhuan either in shepherds' huts or in pitched tents. Beyond DhungiaDhuan, it is necessary to take a guide even for experienced and professional trekkers. The next halt is Kathaliawhich is at a distance of about 6 to 7 Km. from DhungiaDhaun. From Kathalia one can go to both Sukhram and Maiktoli glaciers. They are in opposite directions fromKathalia.

Itinerary for the Sunderdhunga Glacier Trek: -

Day 01: Day 01: Pickup at Kathgodam and drive to Loharkhet via Almora, Bageshwar (10-12 hrs.)

In the morning wetrek to Jatoli village following the Pinder River up to Warbham. This is the meeting place of the Pinder and the Sunderdhunga stream. The path then movesalong the Sunderdhunga stream till it reaches Jatoli village which isour halt for the night. Dinner & stay will be in tents/hotel.

Day 05: Jatoli - Kathalia (3206 metres/14300 ft.)
This route sees us move through thick alpine forest for more than half the journey. The Saria River is seen along this path. Kathalia is the last inhabited village (if you can call it that). Our night stay will be in tents.

Day 06: Kathalia – Sukhram Cave – Sunderdunga View Point (3900 metres/12870 ft.)
This trek takes about (4-5 hrs.) up to Sunderdunga view point and passes through Sukhram Cave. Dinner and night stay will be in tents.

Day 07: Kathalia – Maiktoli Top (4320 metres/14256 ft.)
After breakfast the trek starts with a steep climb of about 4 km. to Maiktolitop. From here it feels as if you can almost touch the peak. The day will certainly be memorable for the adventure lover. Then we return to Kathalia for dinner and for the night.

Day 08: Kathalia - Jatoli (5 hrs.)
We trek back to Jatoli in the morning. Dinner and overnight stay will be in tents/hotel.

Day 9: Jatoli – Khati (4 hrs.)
Trek back to Khati in the morning. Dinner and overnight stay will be in tents/hotel.


Trek back to Dhakuri in the morning. Dinner and night stay will be in tents/rest house.

Day 11: Dhakuri – Loharkhet
We trek all the way to Loharkhet which takes about 5-6 hours. Our night stay will be at a Rest house/hotel. The trek comes  to an end.

Day 12: Loharkhet – Song - Bageshwar – Kathgodam/Naini Tal
In the morning drive to Kathgodam/Nainital

Roopkund Trek
( Kathgodam to Kathgodam 10 Days)

Roopkund is a lake situated at a height of 5029 metres in the lap of the Trishul Massif, hidden below a ridge on the periphery of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. It is often called the "Mystery Lake", as in it lie some 300 corpses dated to the 14th Century AD, well preserved due to the cold and only seen when the lake thaws. There are two versions for these remains; one, that they are the remains of soldiers under General Jorawar Singh's army which was on its way to Tibet, the other that they are the remains of people on a pilgrimage to Trishul base about 600 years ago. The lake itself is a marvellous sight surrounded by a rock strewn glacier and snow clad peaks.

Itinerary for the Roopkund trek:-

Day-1: Pickup at Kathgodam railway station 06.30 hrs.

The starting point of this trek is Mundoli village (1750 m) situated in the eastern Garhwal Himalayas. To get to this starting point all trekkers are required initially to reach Kathgodam station which is the pickup point, by overnight train from Delhi etc.
After we receive you wetransfer your luggage to a waiting vehicle and then drive to Ranikhetwhich takes about 3 hrs. We refresh ourselves at Ranikhet before continuing the drive to Mundoliwhich is across some very scenic countryside past the hill towns of Kausani, Baijnath and Gwaldham. We set camp here for the night.

Day-2: Mundoli to Wan (2439m)5 to 6 hrs.
The walk is not difficult but a slightly long. Stepping out of Mundoli the trek climbs up to Lohajung Pass (2,133m). From here a clear path leads northwards to Wan (2439m). The ascent is quite gradual. We camp at Wan for the night. The campsite is beyond the Forest Rest House on a ridge that offers a marvellous view of Trishul peak.

Day-3: Wan to BedniBugyal (3354m) 4 to 5 hrs.

The trail from Wan ascends to Bedni which is acres and acres of meadow scooped out of lush mountain scape, a steep ridge arching up into the dusk, and above it, the enormous western flank of Trishul. The spot is very romantic and the campsite divine.

Day-4:Bedni to Begubassa (4667m) 5 to 6 hrs.
 The trail from Bedni ascends to the remote village of Begubassa, wherewe camp for the night.

Day-5: Begubassa to Roopkund (5029m) 3 hrs.
We reachRoopkund after an easy day’s march. The campsite is at the tip of the lake. The entire afternoon can be spent exploring the surrounding area.

Day-6: Roopkund to Bistola (4570m) 3 to 4 hrs.

 The same trail descends from Roopkund. Ournight camp is set up at Bistola.

Day-7: Bistola to Ali Bugyal (3300m) 4 to 5 hrs.

Ali Bugyal is another Alpine like meadow that is just as charming as Bedni. Weset up camphere for the night.

Day-8: Ali Bugyal to Didana (2700m)3 to 4 hrs.

The descent from Ali to Didana is easy and our camp is pitched up close to a river.

Day-9: Didana to Mundoli and drive to Ranikhet

From Didana it’s back to civilization for us. The walk to Mundolitakes around 3 hrs. We take in refreshments at Mundoliand catch a jeep back to Ranikhet (5 hrs.). Our night stay will be at a hotel.

Day-10: Ranikhet to Kathgodam.

Chill out and relax. The drive to Kathgodam is in the late afternoon.  From there the train to Delhi departs at 20.40 hrs. (08:40 p.m.)

Milam Glacier Trek
( Kathgodam to Kathgodam 10 Days)

The Namik Glacier trek is situated on Kumaon Himalayas at an attitude of 3,600 mtrs. It is 40 km from Munsiyari and situated at the villages of Gogina and Namik. The glacier is surrounded by peaks like Nanda Devi (7,848 m), Nanda Kot (6,861 m), and Trishuli (7,120 m).The glacier falls on ancient Indo-Tibet trade route. There are a number of waterfalls and sulphur springs originating around this glacier. The glacier can be reached by trekking from Bala village on Thal-Munsiyari road near Birthi Fall. It is 129 km from Pithoragarh.

Itinerary For Namik Glacier Trekking Tour :

Day 01: Kathgodam - Chaukori (2010 mts/6593 ft)198 Kms/5-6 hrs

Arrive at Kathgodam by 06:30 hrs and from here drive to Chaukori through the pleasant Kumaon countryside including the Almora Township. Lunch enroute, arrival at Chaukori by evening. Chaukori is famous for its tea garden. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel

Day 02: Chaukori - Munsyari (2290 mts/7512 ft) 98 kms/3 hrs drive - Senar Gad Meadows (7 km trek/3 hrs)

In the morning after breakfast we will drive to Munsyari. It's the one of the best hill station in entire Kumaon. The quaint Munsyari town with the Rolling Meadows, small town and with spectacular views of the Panch chuli range is considered by many as one of the most beautiful spots in Kumaon. Lunch en-route, from Munsyari we will trek up to Senar Gad Meadow. Dinner and overnight stay in tent.

Day 03: Senar Gad - Dhaldauk (11 km trek/5 hrs)
In the morning after breakfast trek to Dhaldauk with pack lunch. This is an easy walk through a rarely trekked route, a popular trail with the shepherds and commands even more picturesque views of the Panch chuli hills. On arrival set out camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 04: Dhaldauk - Sudamkhan (7 km trek/3 hrs)

After breakfast trek up to Sudamkhan with pack lunch. The views from here are unforgettable. On arrival set out camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05: Sudamkhan - Hiramani Glacier (9 km trek/4 hrs)

Post breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch for Trek up to the edge of the fantastic environs of Hiramani Glacier. Dinner and Overnight on themargins of the glacier.

Day 06: Hiramani Glacier - Namik Glacier - Sudamkhan (14 kms trek/5 hrs)

Post breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch up to the Namik glacier in the morning with Nanda Kot really close up and return back to Sudamkhan. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 07: Sudamkhan - Namik Village (11 km trek/5 hrs)
Post breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch for Namik village, fairly simple trek down to the Bhotia village. Namik was one of the centers in the region for the Indo-Tibetan trade route. The houses have lots of woodcarvings and traditional structures. We would be staying in one of the village houses for the night followed by Dinner.

Day 08: Namik Village - Gogina (6 km trek/3 hrs)

Post breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch for Gogina; Gogina is in the heart of Ramganga Valley at the foot of Nanda Kot with traditional houses. There is an overhanging glacier opposite the village. At the meadows we are likely to meet shepherds also. A visit to the Kimu village, one of the most beautiful in Himalayas is possible. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel

Day 09: Gogina - Liti (19 km trek/6 hrs)

Post breakfast we start our trek with packed lunch for Liti, This is a fairly simple descent down the Ramganga valley to the road head at Liti. Dinner and Overnight stay at the Camp.

Day 10 : Liti - Bageshwar (190 kms/5 hrs)

In the morning drive to Kathgodam.

Valley of Flowers Trek
( Kathgodam to Kathgodam 6 Days)

Day 05: Sudamkhan - Hiramani Glacier (4 hrs.)
Post breakfast our trek starts(packed lunches) and takes us right up to the edge of the Hiramani Glacier. Our dinner and night stay will be in tents on the margins of the glacier.

Day 06: Hiramani Glacier - Namik Glacier - Sudamkhan (5 hrs.)

Post breakfast again we trek (packed lunches) up to the Namik glacier with Nanda Kot really close and return to Sudamkhan. Our dinner and night stay will be at a hotel.

Day 07: Sudamkhan - Namik Village(5 hrs.)
Post breakfast we trek toNamik village(packed lunches). It is a fairly simple trek down to the Bhotia village. Namik was one of the business centres in the region on the Indo-Tibetan trade route. The houses with their traditional structures have a lot of woodcarvings. Our stay is at one of the village houses for the night.

Day 08: Namik Village - Gogina (3 hrs.)
Post breakfast we trek toGogina(packed lunches). Gogina is in the heart of the Ramganga Valley at the foot of Nanda Kot with traditional hill houses. Kafni Glacier Trek
(Kathgodam to Kathgodam-8-10 Days)
Season: From April to September

Kafni glacier is situated on the east side of Pindar valley and south of Nanda Kot peak. This region has its own charm with the solitude it presents. It is also very rich in wildlife. The Himalayan peaks near the glacier are Nandakot (6860 m), Nandabhanar (6104 m).

Itinerary for Kafni Glacier Trek:-
Day 01:Pickup at Kathgodam and drive to Loharkhet.
We drive to Loharkhetfrom Kathgodam via Bageshwar. Bageshwar is situated at the confluence of rivers Saryu, Gomati and the latent Bhagirathi.Loharkhet is a small hamlet on the banks of the river Saryu. Our dinner and night stay is in tents/rest house

Day 02: Loharkhet - Dhakuri (2680m / 8844 ft.)

Day 03: Dhakuri – Khati

Day 05: Dwali – Khatia
After early breakfast the trek begins to Khatia. Dinner and night stay is in tents.

Day 06: Khatia – Kafni glacier (zero point) –Khatia
Early morning after breakfast we move again and reach the Kafni glacier. We explore the area and return to Khatia for dinner and the night.

Day 07: Khatia – Dwali

After breakfast we move on our backward journey to Dwali where we will spend the night.

Day 08: Dwali – Khati

The next morning after breakfast we trek to Khati and spend the night there.

Day 09: Khati – Dhakuri

We return to Dhakuri on the journey back.

Day 10: Dhakuri – Loharkhet
From Dhakuri next morning we trek all the way down to Loharkhet.

Day 11: Loharkhet – Kathgodam/Naini-tal

This is the end of the trek. From here we catch a taxi as required either to Kathgodam or Naini-tal.

Harki Doon trek
(Dehradun to Dehradun - 12 Days)
Season: April to September
The best time for trekking in Harkidoon valley is from June to October. During the rest of the year the region remains either very cold or very wet. The valley is full of wildlife, which makes it a paradise for nature lovers.

Harki Doon Trek is located at the base of FatehParvat, at an altitude of 3,556m. Har Ki Doon, the cradle shaped valley is a paradise for trekkers, bird watchers and naturel lovers. Dense forests of pines and glittering mountain peaks surround the valley. This moderate trek takes you to one of the least explored regions of the Garhwal Himalayas. The valley is scattered with wild Himalayan Flowers and the whole valley looks colourful during flowering season in the monsoon.

Itinerary for Harki Doon Trekking Tour:-

Day 01: Dehradun - Taluka (1900 m/6232 ft.) 7-8 hrs.
After breakfast drive to Taluka, a small hamlet nestled in the laps of nature via Mussoorie, Kempty falls, Purola and Mori. This is starting point of the trek. Night stay is in tents/ tourist rest house.

Day 02: Taluka- Osla (2560m / 8400ft.) 6-7 hrs.
The day starts with the gentle trail towards Osla. The trek is through beautiful forests of Chestnut, Walnut and Willows. A gradual ascent brings us to the picturesque Osla village along a swift rivulet. Dinner and night stay is in tents.

Day 03: Osla - Har - Ki Dun (3566 m / 11700ft.) 6-7 hrs.
Morning after breakfast the trek starts to Har Ki Dun. Initially the trek goes past fields of beans & rice and some isolated villages, where the life style is still untouched. The dress worn by the people is traditional. Their cheerful ness and innocence combined with their simple way of life make them very appealing. A common scene in the evenings is that of ruddy cheeked village belles returning home, carrying on their backs huge loads of pine needles & cones to be used as fuel. The trail steadily ascends the side of the ridge across the river and then veers left to the Har Ki Dun valley. Dense forests at this part give way to the meadows that are scattered with flowers and flowering herbs. Dinner and overnight stay is in tents.

Day 04: Har Ki Doon
The day is for rest/ acclimatization /exploration. On this day everyone can do his own thing. One can go on an exploratory trek in the valley, capture some magnificent views on the camera, or just chill at the campsite. Night stay is again in tents.

Day 05: Har Ki Doon - DebshuBugyal (4-5 hrs.)

Today we will trek 14 km to reach DebshuBughyal. It will take 4-5 hrsat a leisurely pace. The trail is generally downhill. Night stay is in tents.

Day 06: DebshuBugyal - Ruinsara Tal (3500m/ 11480ft.) 5-6 hrs.

The trekstarts early from DebsuBughyal to Ruinsara Tal and is through terraced mountain fields, lush green grassy lands and conifer forests i.e. through extremely scenic landscape. The gradient is moderate and one will be able to complete the trek in 5 - 6 hrs. Night stay is in tents.

Day 07: Ruinsara Tal
The day is for rest / acclimatization / exploration. One can explore the surroundings around the lake. The place is a photographer’s delight. Dinner and night in stay is in tents.

Day 08: Ruinsara Tal - Osla (4-5 hrs.)
After breakfast the trek starts back towards Osla. It will take about 4-5 hours. Camp will be set up by the Supin River.

Day 10: Osla - Taluka (3-4 hrs.)
After early breakfast the trek takes about 3-4 hours to reach Taluka and from here drive back to Dehradun. Dehradun to Delhi- train/bus.
